Sebacate Plasticizers
In a time when people are looking for non-phthalate plasticizers, Sebacic Acid and its plasticizer derivatives will likely continue to increase in demand. ChemCeed carries a full line of sebacates including Dibutyl Sebacate, Dimethyl Sebacate, and Dioctyl Sebacate. Dibutyl Sebacate(DBS) is compatible with a wide range of plastics and synthetic rubbers including PVC, neoprene and polystyrene. DBS is safe for food contact uses as well as medical uses. Two properties of DBS that are important to note are its superior properties at low temperatures and good oil resistivity. Dioctyl Sebacate(DOS) is used as a plasticizer for PVC, nitrocelluloses, styrene resins, and synthetic rubbers where low temperature performance is required. A few end applications of DOS include anti-frosting cable and PVC linoleum. Dimethyl Sebacate(DMS) is used as a plasticizer, softener, and solvent for cellulose resin, vinyl resin, and synthetic rubber. DMS also is used as a large component of UV stabilizers. Please inquire with us for more information about our line of sebacate products and look for more information about this product line on our website.
