Issue 25 - October 2011 Tolyltriazole Market Update The tolyltriazole market continues to be very scarce. Raw material shortages are said to be the cause of recent worldwide availability issues. It appears difficulties will continue through the end of 2011. Any progress that will be made in months to come will be very slow, and ChemCeed will continue to monitor the situation. Some users have been able to switch out formulations with benzotrizoale for a temporary fix until tolytriazole availability improves.
Soybean Market Changes Reduced numbers of U.S soybean crops were produced this year, as many farmers opted in favor of planting more profitable crops such as corn, and South American production is not expected to make up for the deficit. This will likely result in lower inventories of soybeans, and thus in soybean products such as Soybean Oil and Epoxidized Soybean Oil. Because of this one can expect to see prices of these products rise in the future.
