Application

Dioctyl Adipate (DOA) is a colorless, odorless, transparent oily liquid that is most often used as a PVC plasticizer. DOA is compatible with a wide range of materials such as nitrocellulose, ethyl cellulose, most synthetic rubbers, cellulose acetate butyrate, PVC, chloroethylene polymer, and cellulose nitrate. DOA can be used alone or with other plasticizers such as Dioctyl Phthalate (DOP) and Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP) in cold resisting agricultural plastic film, freezing food, packing film, cable, electric wire, and more. DOA can also be used as a Group V Synthetic base oil, especially in applications where low temperature performance is required, and they can be blended with Group III and Group IV base oils to improve properties. This combination can be used in cold-resisting agricultural plastic film, freezing food, packing film, cable, electric wire, imitation paper, planet, and outdoor water pipe. It imparts good low temperature flexibility, good heat stability, weathering properties, high plasticizing efficiency, and good electrical properties making it especially suitable for use in flexible coating and PVC colorants. DOA can be used to disperse pigments in paint as well as in applications that involve food contact such as food packaging films and seals. DOA can be found in many commercial products as well such as shoes, slippers, synthetic leather, door mats, and more.
